The
scientific name of the herb is Citronella Nardus or Citronella Winterianus.
Its essential oil is widely used in aromatherapy to treat health problems,
as it has tonic, antimicrobial and antiseptic effects and is an essential
ingredient of Asian cuisine, both for its particular aroma and the nutrients
it contains.
The essential oil acts as an antibacterial, antidepressant, antiseptic,
anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, deodorant, sudorific, diuretic, fungicide
and insect repellent.
