Achillea
is used in three different cases.
The first case concerns the treatment of influenza, colds and fever.
Achillea is strongly sudorific and, as a result, a hot drink causes a
therapeutic sweat that detoxifies the body.
The natural pigments and alkaloids (achillene) contained in Achillea have
the ability to "drop" the pressure and therefore the herb is
recommended in cases of hypertension. Coumarins and the salicylic acid (an
aspirin component) contained in Achillea prevent blood clots from forming and
promote overall good circulation through the widening of the peripheral
arteries.
Finally, Achillea is an effective healer. Its name and reputation have come
from this property - according to Mythology the herb was given to Achilles by
the Centaur Chiron. Achilles used it to heal the wounds of his fighters in
the Trojan War. The use of Achillea (internally) helps tackle bleeding,
hemorrhoids, menorrhagia and generally all internal hemorrhages. The
antiseptic properties of the herb (due to the content of azulin and apigenin)
are also important in cases of bleeding.
It should not be taken with antibiotics Always consult the quantity and use specialist
