Due to
its anti-inflammatory action, amamelis oil is widely used to tackle pimples
(even those caused by childhood diseases) and in the treatment of acne. It
can be used for lacerations, swelling, cuts (you'll find it as an ingredient
in shaving products), bruises and scratches, but also for treating external
hemorrhoids as it has styptic, hemostatic and painkiller properties. It is
said that Amamelis' styptic properties are particularly effective in closing
open pores.
Amamelis oil is considered ideal for eye products as it is thought to
reduce the "bags" under the eyes. Amamelis' ability to improve
blood circulation locally makes it suitable for treating phlebitis.
Amamelis is suitable for the treatment of swelling and for the treatment of
itching from insect bites, nettle contact, dry skin (body and head) and so
on. These qualities of Amamelis make it ideal for the care of infant rash.
