AvailablePalm oil comes from the freshly dried fruits of the Elaeis Guineensis plant. It is often confused with coconut oil or the oil derived from the seeds of the Elaeis Guineensis plant.
Palm oil is actually oil but at temperatures up to 25C it has a solid form. It is an oil that contains a number of unsaturated and saturated fats (glyceryl laurate, myristate, palmitate, stearate, oleate, linoleate and alpha-linolenate). It is rich in vitamins A and E.
Palm oil can be used in many cosmetic products, such as emulsions, hair care products, moisturizers and lip balms. It is widely used in the preparation of soaps, as it has the characteristic that it gives "hardness" to the cold method soap and enhances the foaming.
