Essential Oil - Helichrysum Italicum

Available

Olive gold has traditionally been used in Europe for chorea, ie tuberculosis of the lymph nodes, asthma, arthritis, and headaches, but also for intestinal worms.

The shoots and flowers of the plant have expectorant, antiperspirant and laxative properties and are used to treat the common cold.

The essential oil of the plant has healing, anti-aging, regenerative, anti-inflammatory, hemostatic and lipolytic properties.

It is recommended for the treatment of various skin diseases, such as burns, acne, herpes, sores, bruises and eczema.

The strong antioxidant and carcinogenic effect of the plant due to its phenolic compounds (3,5-O-dicaffeoylquinic acid, O-acetylhexoside) has also been proven.

In folk medicine, the essential oil appears to have antispasmodic, analgesic, antimicrobial, antiseptic, cholagogue, diuretic and antidepressant properties, among others.

It is administered as a healing, soothing and regenerating agent topically to the skin in the form of essential oil (2-3 drops), often in a mixture with essential oils of other plants.

The essential oil contains esters (nerol acetate), terpenes (curcumin 4-15%, pinene 1-4%, lemon 4-10%, camphor, quercetin, luteolin, linalool, geraniol), hydrocarbons, flavonoids, sesquiterpenes -terpenoid β-ketones.

No toxicity or other side effects have been reported.
